Award Winning Office Space for GE in Budapest
As part of their business strategy, GE created a new campus in Budapest. The new campus will consist of 3 buildings, with a total area of 40,000 sq.m and is a base for several business lines, with c. 4,000 GE employees working in it. The campus will incorporate office space, laboratories, community facilities and conference halls.
Cushman & Wakefield advised GE on lease transaction and managed the fit out of Building C, which was handed over in July 2015 and Building B, whic will be handed over in June 2016. Building C is occupied by GE Global Operations, GE Healthcare’s offices and labs, as well as a restaurant and a 400 person conference centre.
Cushman & Wakefield was responsible for project management from the lease negotiations until the occupation of the areas. This included the management of the design, the fit out works, the commissioning and the relocation of departments from various sites.
The interior design is innovative and inspiring, which fits the 21st century work style tendencies and attracts and retains talent and creative minds. The office space offers various kinds of work environment for different work styles. GE also aimed to provide more space for collaboration and recreation, which include technology and furniture solutions of the highest standards. The Campus will also include a gym, retail units, 2 restaurants, cafeterias and a conference centre. The various business lines will be able to unite in these spaces.
GE’s hub in Budapest is one of the most important hubs that envisions a creative working environment, focussing on employee’s wellbeing and reflecting the values and culture of GE.
A huge acknowledgment of the team’s efforts was Building C winning the Office of The Year Award in 2016.
